• Artist Statement

  I recently created the piece Women Are From Venus, and found that the process of intuitive creation can be fairly therapeutic. Going into art without a plan and letting my hands take over allows me to make a more genuine piece that represents the current state of mind. This piece alludes to the comparison between women, plants, and life, emphasizing feminine and essential elements in the world. The mother's legs open up to expose a Venus fly trap in place of an expected vagina.

• Creative Statement

  In my home city of San Francisco, I have been involved in activities ranging from museum volunteering to being featured in exhibitions to founding an art club at Mission High School for my peers to feel a sense of community.
