• Artist Statement

  "Tallies in a Little Blue Notebook" is about my experiences with Tourette’s Syndrome. From the perspectives of my tics, I grapple with the ableism I have faced and internalized over time. I hope that my writing can inspire other people with disabilities who feel underrepresented in the literary scene.

• Creative Statement

  Exploring and expressing my creativity through writing allows me, through a slightly detached lens, to understand the parts of my identity that used to bring me shame. In the process of developing the changes my characters undergo, I have come to embrace myself as a person with disabilities.
