Sun the brother, Moon the sister

Sheri L.

  • Throughout my artistic process of writing this poem, I focused on developing vivid imagery which allowed the reader to think about more than the poem's surface meaning. I wanted to create a mix of moods that generate opposing feelings and emotions such as leaving and being left, but also joy and comfort. I used vivid language, images, and storytelling to communicate this duality. As I wrote, I made sure to remain open to any inspiration and followed the feeling of the words to bring the poem to life.

  • By exploring and expressing my creativity, I'm able to channel my energy into something I enjoy. It's an amazing way to unplug from the noise & focus on what matters most. I'm more productive and creative in my other endeavors when I make time to explore & express my creativity.
