“Soup” is set in a subdued, slightly dystopian setting. The sidewalk, in my mind usually perceived as dirty and boring, is almost shimmering with various hues of green, yellow and orange. I needed to paint it as soon as I saw it.

Art and painting in particular have influenced how I view everyday objects and events around me. I can't look at something without picturing how I would paint it. Due to being put in art classes from a young age, drawing has become a part of my daily routine.
