Solitary

Lola H.

  • title: “Solitary”

    materials: Gouache on Paper

This painting to me represents a feeling of being alone or solitary without feeling lonely, able to enjoy one’s own company and environment. I spent 25+ hours on this painting and regard it as one of my favorite pieces as well as both a challenge I was able to overcome, and an opportunity for growth.

  • Drawing has affected my life by teaching me many important skills. I’ve been incredibly passionate about my art for as long as I can remember and visual arts has also taught me how to accept criticism, be resilient, and continue working towards something even if my improvement isn’t always obvious.
