This artwork, entitled Snowkissed, is a vector portrait of my dog Romeo. It represents a great accumulation of the things I have discovered within the past year that have brought calm and order to my chaotic life. Creativity, repetition, color, music, and my dog have brought me joy and comfort in this year's most difficult times. Knowing that I had a safe space in the art studio to put on headphones, tune out the world, and focus on bringing my artistic style and ideas to life turned my elective art period into one of my favorite parts of the day. And channeling my creative energy into an artistic representation of my dog Romeo playing in the snow brought an added joyful bonus to my time spent in the studio. This piece is a vector-based digital design, based on my own photograph, and it represents the newfound joy that I gained after discovering graphic design and digital art. I wanted to create something fun and happy in contrast to the often dismal and dark reality of the world we live in. I hoped that I could capture the curious, mischievous glimmer in my dog's eyes, the adorable "kiss" of snow on his snout, and his unwavering dedication to sniffing out the joy and adventure in everything. Looking at him each day puts a smile on my face, and I hope that my artistic portrayal brings you that same smile, and reminds you to always search out the joy in adventure, even if it means getting your nose a little dirty every once and a while.

Art is a space for me to let go and create. Art is an oasis where I can forget the troubling & stressful reality of the world we live in and focus on letting my creativity flow. Creating art feels like freeing all my thoughts through color, shape, and meaning, and I wouldn't be who I am without it.
