• Artist Statement

  San Francisco View from Naval Air Station - Alameda CA. 18mm cropped lens with circular polarizer filter. My goal of this photo was to capture the beautiful view of San Francisco and also capture the light reflections from the water in the most natural way possible. Photography bridges both traditional surf photography and a more figurative form of surf photography, capturing all aspects of the sport. Pursuing photography has made me more in tune with the surfing community that I am so lucky to be a part of, and has helped me build connections that extend past surfing and into my everyday life. I am excited about the opportunity to share my work with the judges and share the beautiful coastline that I am lucky enough to call my home.

  Photography has been a very fun hobby of mine. I've never considered myself as good artist in terms of drawing capabilities but photography has allowed me to express my creative and artistic side.
