Onimask

Kris A.

  • At first I had an idea to make a Oni mask inspired from Japanese culture. Then I added my own little spin to it by exaggerating the facial features like the eyes, nose and mouth. I used ceramic carving tools to make the details. Just learning the art of ceramics, this project took me almost three weeks to complete. I felt really accomplished and proud of my work. I grew to love the medium of clay even though it is extremely messy and requires a lot of patience.

  • Expressing my creativity positively impacts my life because I get to express myself freely.
