Nature's Karma

Chloe W.

  • This ink drawing is inspired by a Chinese idiom “Luo Ye Gui Gen” (falling leaves return to their roots), which is parallel to the concept that humans have to face the consequences of relentless demand for the earth’s resources. When we die, everything returns to its roots. The tilted vase, hands, branches, and roots form a visual flow, representing nature’s cycle.

  • I believe art is a valid dimension for sharing ideas. It has transcended the tidal wave of knowledge throughout history with its creativity. The world may not change instantly through art, but its slow and yearning trajectory into human consciousness has always proven to leave its indelible mark.
