Lost

Arryn B.

  • On a road trip to Joshua Tree, we took a wrong turn and found ourselves lost in the desert. I remember not feeling worried, more excited to explore and drive through unknown roads in the arid landscape surrounding us. I started taking shots out the window and noticed something silver reflecting against the sun. In the middle of nowhere was the nose of an old airplane. I loved how isolated it was, almost lost in the desert like we were. The white brick wall behind it made the perfect backdrop, the fence post framing it, and the graffiti a reminder we weren't alone. Finding unexpected story's like this inspire my work and motivate me to keep searching.

  • It allows me to express myself through a medium, that is tangible and manipulatable. Having a means of expression helps you work through things in your life than are not explainable with words. When I am shooting photography I am in the moment, nothing else even enters my brain except photography.
