This album cover is a redesign of Korean pop/R&B singer Katie's EP Log. The romance-themed EP's 6 song track list has an intimate and dreamy yet sleek and chill feeling, which I wanted to encompass through my take on the design. I also aimed to stay along the path of the original album cover's color scheme. As a sophomore at the time of creating, I was still familiarizing myself with Adobe's tools. This project helped me explore my design style and practice Photoshop and Illustrator skills. First deciding on a layout, I decided on how to cut out the images and where to place them. Then I played with typography and figured out my font choice, complimentary colors and text shadows, and how to warp my text to just the right angle. Lastly, I recolored the rose image cutouts to give them their glow and warm look. As an avid music listener, I loved this project as I was able to dive in and connect music and design, my two favorite forms of art.

Expressing and exploring creativity provides me an artistic outlet and gives balance to my everyday school-work-sports life. Design is the only subject that has deeply resonated with me in my search for a career, and exploring my style often feels as if I'm exploring an extension of myself.
