This piece was an assignment in my multimedia class where we were asked to depict ourselves as a flower. I chose to depict myself as a Rose-of-Sharon, a plant that opens in sunlight and closes at night. Sunlight represents the attention the flower gets. Sometimes it's directly in the light and other times it's shaded by the tree above waiting for it's time to be under the spotlight. It's surrounded by different types of flowers like how I surround myself with different kinds of people.

Expressing my creativity allows me to be recognized by my peers and be complimented for my creations. Being complimented for what I do has allowed me to open up more and find confidence in my skills. I have become more open to criticisms and find new techniques to create what I envision.
