leave a mark v-2

Arnav S.

  • When we talk about legacy, we usually make a big deal out of the fact that no one will remember us when we’re gone. I wanted to explore legacy from a less self-centered perspective. Inspired by the errors found on old screen printed clothes, the paint is splattered and smudged. The words are sloppily written on top of the painting with a thick marker, as if they were added by someone else. This project explores how your creativity can inform someone else’s.

  • Exploring other artist’s creativity changed how I express my own. As a kid, I stopped drawing after deciding it was too technical to be fun. When my favorite albums motivated me to express myself, I picked up drawing again. Now, I draw for creative expression instead of technical improvement.
