Kaleidoscope

Anja K.

  • In creating my “Kaleidoscope” vase, I tried to show the complexity of the mind and how it is constantly moving around with different bright ideas. I was inspired by my surroundings, and my own struggle with dyslexia as my head is constantly filled with different thoughts that aren’t always in straight black and white lines but rather spirals and colors. I love the color palette of blues, greens, and purples and thought it worked well with my piece. While constructing my vase, I wanted to challenge myself with a piece that was made with waves and wasn’t a straight slab or coil construction but rather a slab construction with designs carved and glazed on top.

  • By giving myself an outlet to be creative, it helps me learn to express myself in other areas. It also helps me to learn to be a more creative person in classes and in my outside life.
