Two Juvenile Great-Horned Owls perched on a branch. Taken in Northern California around dusk on a Nikon D7500 DSLR.
As a photographer, I was always on the lookout for new and interesting subjects to capture with my camera. One day, while walking through my backyard, I was startled by a sudden movement in the trees. I looked up and was amazed to see an owl perched on a branch, its bright eyes staring back at me. Over the next few days, I returned to the same spot multiple times, hoping to catch a glimpse of the owl again. On the third night, I was thrilled to find that there were now two of them perched on the same branch. I wanted to capture the emotion of the moment and express it through the color of the photo, so I spent some time adjusting the white balance and saturation settings on my camera.
Once I was satisfied with the composition and settings, I snapped the photo and reviewed the image on the back of my camera. The photo turned out exactly as I had hoped - the owls were captured in a natural and candid way, and the composition was strong and visually appealing. The emotion of the moment was also conveyed through the soft, muted colors of the photo. The experience of discovering the owls in my own backyard was truly unforgettable, and I was grateful to have been able to capture this moment with my camera.
