Warmth

Anna D.

  • The picture I am submitting is picture that I took for a rainy day assignment in my photography class. For this assignment I wanted to focus on rain drops, and take a picture that captured the moody and cozy feeling of a rainy day, and how it feels to sit at home in warm and cozy environment. This picture was taken from inside my living room through the sliding glass doors looking out onto my balcony. While taking this picture, I wanted capture the rain drops falling down, and incorporate the Christmas lights on my balcony, in order to bring more warmth and light into my picture, to create that cozy feeling. In addition to incorporating the lights, I decided to underexpose my picture to add to that feeling of warmth, and put emphasis on the lights in the background. I also wanted to capture the window, in order to add more texture and shape to the picture to balance out the rectangular shape of the balcony.

  • Expressing my creativity through photography makes more aware of my surroundings, and the nature around me. It makes me see more things as pictures, and what certain things would look like in a picture.
