Hidden Cottage

I'm a huge fan of animated movies due to the exquisite art styles used to portray each and every scene and movement. To create this piece, I found factors from my favorite movie settings, as well as the multiple nature and scenery pieces I've made, in order to make a cozy and hidden cottage. This piece took a lot of time as there are multiple smaller details in the background that took multiple days to get the colors and blending done correctly. Additionally, I had trouble with getting the lighting to look natural, however, after multiple attempts, experimentation, and undo buttons, I was able to get a look I was satisfied with. I think in general, I spent most of my time on the coloring side of this piece since I was able to get a sketch out pretty quickly. This piece was definitely one that I'm proud of since I don't usually do watercolor digital art, but I decided to go out of my comfort zone and try something new, and I'm glad I did!

Expressing my creativity is an escape from reality for me. It allows me to have time for myself and my feelings; both good and bad. Exploring these different areas of art and finding creativity helps me center myself and become a better person in general.
