I wanted to create a complex and emotional scene in this digital artwork called "Held Tight" to portray a feeling of confusion and being trapped. This piece presents a silhouette of a person tightly holding onto a white rabbit with large hands, smearing dark red lipstick on its mouth. I made the main focus to be a white rabbit to represent vulnerability and a sense of naive innocence in oneself. The rabbit hangs loose in the hands of the silhouette, paralyzed by the confusing setting of not knowing if the person is holding itself with a toxic, harmful intent or with genuine love. The silhouette's large, rough hands applying lipstick on the pure creature makes it seem as though the person truly cares about the rabbit when in reality, the poorly done makeup exposes how suffocating and manipulative their grasp really is.

Expressing through art has greatly impacted my life as it allows me to convey deeper concepts that are difficult to explain with just words. Exploring how I can creatively twist personal feelings, memories, experiences and more into a viewable experience for others is extremely meaningful to me.
