Golden Hour

Blake J.

  • What I love about nature photography is that you never know what shot is waiting for you when you go outside. Unlike making a film where you plan everything out before you shoot, photography takes more time and patience. This particular shot was taken on a trip to Florida. It was golden hour out on a dock, and a pelican landed right in front of me while the sun was hitting the water. After a few minutes of getting the right angle and waiting for the bird to get in a good position, I had the perfect shot. It took very little editing to get the color right because the lighting was so perfect. This digital image was captured on my Panasonic GH5 with a 12-60mm lens and touched up on Adobe Photoshop.

  • Creativity is a way of expressing your unique self.
