Free to Fly

Biana T.

  • This piece is called Free to Fly. I used acrylic paint. This artwork is supposed to show the fleeting freedom which this girl struggles with obtaining, due to her circumstances. This freedom is represented by Monarch butterflies, which are bright and colorful, but only live for a couple weeks. I primarily used the colors orange and blue because they are contrasting colors, and to further emphasize the meaning. I think the meaning of this piece could resonate with many people who want to be free to be themselves, but can't.

  • I have been grateful for the ability to explore art and express my creativity through it. I have been drawing since I was young and the improvement can definitely be seen. I can't imagine myself as the person I am now without art.
