Flower Tears

Victoria G.E.

  • I find that in my life, there is a constant presence of overwhelm and distress, leaching into my personhood and history. I found it difficult to express how my experiences had made me feel, and how they have impacted me.

I began to explore photography as a medium when I first joined a portfolio class, in which I had truly felt the liberation to show glimpses of how my personal journey has shaped me. This medium also served as a healing process from all the challenges I faced, especially during the pandemic, where I learned to capture the hints of beauty and solace in the suffocation.

This samples of my photography utilizes colored light and perspective to capture and enhance the beauty in the photo, despite how differently the subject may be perceived.

Photographs include "Flower Tears" (iphone 10)

  • Exploring and expressing my creativity has impacted my life by showing me how to be thoughtful and appreciative of my identity and the world around me, and become more passionate in the subjects and projects I want to pursue in my life. It allows me to connect with others and share my story.
