• Artist Statement

  This photograph of a garage emergency rope and is part of my exploration of everyday objects and the potential beauty that can be found in them. I chose this particular object because of its simplicity. The rope is a simple subject, but its texture and shadows create an interesting visual effect. My creative process focused on emphasizing the texture of the rope and the light cast on it. To do this, I used a shallow depth-of-field to bring out the details and under exposed the image to bring out the highlight detail.
