This piece represents forced exterior change despite individual reluctance, the hands representing society and forced change. It symbolizes social norms and how people are constantly self reflecting and attempting to change themselves to fit in because of society's watchful and judgmental gaze. Throughout my process, I experimented with hand positions and my color palette to contribute to the idea that forced conformity is bad, highlighting the person as colorful and bright and the hands inflicting change as dark and dull.

Exploring and expressing my creativity allows me to study general emotions and my own. It helps me reflect on who I am, what defines me, and how I respond to emotional situations. Creating art has helped me find myself and helps me process who I am during the most emotional parts of my life.
