• Artist Statement

  My art piece is of a woman with hair shaped as a moon. I was greatly inspired by Alphonse Mucha, and the art Nouveau movement. My personal creative process is incubation of ideas, then a sudden burst of creativity; this piece is a result of that. I wanted to also add a touch of surrealism as well, as no ones hair actually floats into the shape of a moon. And I attempted to convey emotion through anatomy rather than facial expression. Also tapping into the romanticist ideal, with the composition of the drawing.

• Creative Statement

  To me, creativity is an outlet for self expression. It allows me to learn about myself, and express myself in ways that wouldn't be possible otherwise.
