Cry Me A River

This artwork displays the sensation of burnout, more specifically academic burnout. It is of a girl who has cried so much that she is submerged under vibrant waves of tears. Surrounding her are multiple papers, of which are successful academic assignments. Some of these documents are opened, while others are crumbled in rage. Though, more importantly, a report card is put next to the crying girl, highlighting her achievements as an honor student.
To be honest, this isn't the best artwork I have done or have the potential for doing. However, the concept in itself is an important topic for me. Being able to express this is what matters to me most, as sharing the stresses of the world can unite us in beautiful ways. I hope to recreate this piece with mindful strokes, so that anyone who can relate to the painstaking reality of being "the honor kid" or "valedictorian" can find solace in this message.

Being able to explore my creativity has impacted my life in many ways. I have become confident in my ability to express ideas as physical forms, which in turn has made me better academically, socially, and verbally. I have also been able to branch out to other art mediums besides visual arts.
