bygone days

This work represents my inner thoughts, how there’s constantly songs playing in my head or excerpts from otherworldly fantasy novels occupying my brain. The crisp notebook paper is a blank slate ready for my ideas, while the crumpled paper symbolizes throwing my creations away, telling myself I'm not good enough. I’m hesitant to present my true self to others because I’m scared of rejection. In this self-portrait, my emotions are on the outside for once, showing my personality to the world.

I use photography, specifically self portraits, to express my inner thoughts and feelings which I can't put into words. This has helped me gain self-assurance and I've started to open up and show my true personality without feeling shy or ashamed.
