Alfie by B. Bacharach and H. David

Amarech M.

  • This piece is a cover performance of Alfie, a song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David to promote the 1966 film by the same name. It is most notably performed by Dionne Warwick.

I attended a professional/college workshop this summer where I worked on this piece. It was the first piece of music that I learned without listening to the original recording - I learned the song only from reading the sheet music. I feel like it was the first time my true voice was heard. This process pushed me to trust my knowledge and abilities as before this I was not fully confident reading music. I practiced every day over two week period and this piece is the result.

  • Singing and performing are my true passions in life. When I feel overwhelmed or anxious, nothing helps ground me more than singing a song. I have been singing for as long as I can remember - it comes from my heart, my mind and my soul. I hope to pursue theatre and singing in college for my career.
