Our piece is a rendition of Kurt Cobain’s Heart Shaped Box. The band performing the piece has worked together previously for a soiree performance at Novato High and we found that we worked well together. We organized rehearsals outside of school at one of the band mates houses and would practice the song and also jam together, improvising and working together, celebrating our mutual love for music. After multiple rehearsals we gathered supplies for recording and tried to find the best balance we could so our recording would optimize all our musicianship together. Through this process we also grew much closer and learned about ourselves and each other.
