A Clouded Reminiscence

This art piece refers to something related to the past and the present, and also something to do with the beginning of time. Whales and fish shaped clouds as well as abnormally large lily pads were also incorporated to the piece for a more surreal look and idea for nature. The landscape is surrounded with clouds, and in the middle of the pond are three little houses, its reflection reflecting the future as time grows from when they were created. During the making of this, I tried to make it seem unrealistically dreamy as possible so that it seemed as if it came from a dream, or nostalgic, to the viewer, even. There were many details that had been altered and changed as I added more ideas to my original plan. At first when creating this piece, I had trouble envisioning the colors that I wanted to use on the black paper, fearing that I'd make the colors off from what I had thought of. This minor problem was gradually solved as I went with the flow and layered the colors. I used a set Prismacolor premier pencils from my high school advanced art class on a 9x11in black paper.
