Wild Charlie

  • I drew my friend Charlie as a monkey man using water soluble crayons. I drew him from life and chose to alter his appearance slightly. I kept the structure if his body and his sitting position, but made slight changes in his ears, hands, tail, and the background. I initially chose to make Charlie into a monkey man because of his personality. He is short and has the movements of a monkey, dressing in very baggy clothes. He is very funny and his humor reminds me of a silly monkey. I think it would be his spirit animal. Creating this was just like seeing a different representation of my friend.

  • Art is my self-expression, my ever-growing creation, and when I am feeling trapped in life, it is my escape. I use art to help guide me through the turbulence of life while finding inspiration from those around me leading me to my most creative and inspired moments.
