Photos from magazines were cut out and arranged to be glued into a collage. I changed the arrangement a lot throughout the process, and stopped working on it for several months. I wanted to express my following thoughts visually: In the face of disaster, we decide how to move forward. It takes involvement/collaboration to make actual change. Change will not always happen quickly. There will always be problems. We find that discouraging, but change for the better depends on our focused efforts. We can’t always wait for others to do it. I had initially made this peace to illustrate hopelessness with a looming giant over the scene. But this phrase(the title) intrigued me. So I removed the giant to focus on the ruin and the people in the image.
