The symbol of the wolf in sheep’s clothing shows up in many fables. Though, It originates from verse 7:15 and 7:16 in the new testament. These lines state ”Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves”. And ”by their fruits shall ye know them”. Meaning someones true nature is shown through their actions. Other varriations are less to warn people of hypocritical evil-doers but rather warn those with malicious intent of the consequences. One fable tells the story of a wolf who hides in sheeps clothing thus getting plenty to eat. But when the shepherd went to pick a sheep for his dinnner the wolf was met with his penalty. In both versions this symbol serves as a reminder that your actions define you and to not do evil as it will most likely come back to bite you.
