The Weight of Wishes

When I wrote ”The Weight of Wishes,” I was thinking about how we start life with so much hope and imagination, but as we grow older, those dreams often change or fade. The poem follows a girl from her childhood wishes for unicorns and castles to a point where her desires feel heavy and even a little sad. I wanted to capture how life’s challenges can make us lose touch with the joy we once had, and how, as we grow, we sometimes wish to be someone else—someone smaller, easier to hide. The candles in the poem represent the fading light of these wishes, and the way her dreams slowly become less about magic and more about surviving. It’s really a reflection of my own feelings about growing up and the things we lose along the way.

Creativity, to me, is peace. It’s the calm that comes when ideas flow freely, offering personal expression and clarity. Whether through art, problem-solving, or innovation, it fosters introspection, balance, and transformation. Creativity helps me navigate life’s chaos, grounding me and providing a sense of accomplishment and inner harmony.
