The theme of my portfolio is Played Love. As most people say, love is a game, and I wanted to tell a story about someone who is constantly defeated and cheated by someone they love. These poems tell a story, and that was the easiest route for me to take. I tried writing poems about myself, about how I was feeling, but it was easier and more fun to write about other people’s feelings and lives. These poems tell the story of a burned lover, not an obsessive one. She has been so in love, and abandoned so suddenly it’s hard for her to get over it. There’s some aspects of myself in her, but honestly, I take inspiration from the music I listen to, the people in my life, and things I’ve experienced in the past.

Creativity is what makes my identity unique. It’s how I differ from everyone else, I let my mind and my ideas, flow through my emotions onto whatever I’m writing, or painting, or simply working on.
