The Spider

Chloe F.

  • In an extra chapter we had to write for There There by Tommy Orange in English class, I focused on the conceptual “spider” as a force embodying generational trauma and vices. The spider threads its web across generations, representing how inherited grief and loss silently shape identity, relationships, and behaviors in often unseen yet deeply felt ways. Like a spider’s web that catches and holds everything in its strands, these inherited experiences cling to us, affecting our lives and the lives of those who come after us.

  • Creativity is the embodiment of expression so one can breathe another day to demonstrate the enactment of how they pronounce themselves to the world.
