The Diurnality moon moth

Super sculpty clay, fake fur, metal wires, hot glue, cloth, black, yellow and pink paint.

  • I made this art piece at an art class I took at the SRJC. I really enjoyed the class and one of my professors assignments was to create a sculpture of something organic from what I remember. This was my first sculpture I have ever made and am still really proud of it. The first step I took to complete this artwork was to sculpt the clay into a oval like shape then add two circular balls to one end for the eyes. I then cut and bent the wires for the antenna and legs. The next step was cutting the fur to fit the shape and dyeing it by putting it in a bowl of water with acrylic paint. Since I put very little paint it didn’t dry hard and is still soft. I then cut the wings, painted them and glued it all together.

  • I think creativity means being able to express yourself though your art and not having any limitations on how you express it.
