• Artist Statement

  Apartheid in Palestine: The Resistance of Palestine & Yemen. We were learning about apartheid in Palestine and about how Israel was misleading people into thinking they were doing the right thing. Although Palestine can’t really defend itself when it comes to militia, that didn’t stop them from resisting genocide. Yemen also held solidarity with Palestine by intercepting Israel’s offense to aid the victims of genocide. The iconography represents a Yemeni ship resisting apartheid with a watermelon on the mast representing Palestine’s situation.
