Shinjuku Sunset

After going on vacation in September to South Korea and Japan for the first time, I wanted to express and document my travels through photography. When I was in the Tokyo area, I had a very brief opportunity to compose this shot while transferring trains during sunset. This was at the Shin-Okubo Station in Shinjuku and captures the bustle of an urban landscape. I wanted to compose leading lines toward the sunset while still capturing the bustle of the street below as I was on an elevated platform. I then edited my photo to bring out the pop in the image and the warm environment of a busy city street and the actual weather in Japan at the time. I also really like the bloomed highlights of my photo, creating a dreamy and cinematic feel to the overall piece. I also printed my piece onto glossy photo paper.

Creativity means to me not only stepping out and being different from others but also thinking of new innovative ways to do things through taking risks. Creativity means stepping out of my comfort zone to try new things and be unique in the work I put out.
