I found the frame on the sidewalk on the way to school, I cut and drilled it too pieces of plexi glass to create the illusion of floating. I wanted the person to feel almost etheral. I depicted the hyprocrisy of exessive pridefulness through the birds. Despite pigeons and doves being biologically similar, pigeons are seen as pests and doves are seen as bringers of peace. Alchohal marker is used to render the face and gold paint is dry brushed on the painting to drawn focus. I added texture and depth using modeling paste to highlight the birds and bring life too their feathers. I wanted to create an image that displayed how at times our pridefullness is our own undoing, and how it can reflect how we end up silencing our true selves or others in the process.

I often have dificulty verbalizing or formulating my thoughts, creativity allows a way for me to interept these feelings. Creativity to me a way of approaching things and finding new ways to use new materials. Approaching an idea with an unconventional material and executing in visual format is my outlet.
