I believe that restaurants can help global audiences get a glimpse of a different culture through its food and experience. As an Asian American, I have seen the monetization of Chinese culture yet still seeing the constant belittling of my culture due to ignorance. Because of this, I decided to redesign Panda Express’s logo to integrate traditional Chinese elements such as art, symbolism, and history into the logo’s design to provide a more authentic cultural experience without losing the global appeal that has made Panda Express successful.
