One day, I’ll Grow to be Like Them

I took this photo while on a day trip to Elizabeth Gamble Gardens in Palo Alto, during the spring. While I was taking photos of all the different flowers that were growing, I stumbled across a grouping of tulips. The evening sun was beautifully shining on one of the buds, and I framed the photo with this bud in the bottom left corner and in focus. The backdrop of the image worked so beautifully, with already fully-developed flowers being blurred out but still visible. The title of this image, “One day, I’ll Grow to be Like Them” refers to the fact that although this flower is still yet to grow, it has the potential to be like all the other flowers that exist in the garden and continue to draw the attention of visitors.

Creativity is a quest for improvement. With every photo I take, I learn something new, whether it be camera techniques, composition strategies, or postproduction elements. I am energized by this process and constantly strive to make my creativity the best it can be.
