My Voice is not made for Poetry

Elsa C.

  • This poem is about me, and my relationship with poetry as someone who has a minor speech impediment. It showcases my feelings on spoken word poetry, which I’ve always wanted to try but never had the guts to do. In this poem, I talk a lot about this idea of being a child when it comes to poetry, and aside from the fact that I feel like I talk more like a child than an adult, it also highlights other problems that can come with speech impediments, like bad articulation, which I know a lot of people suffer from as well.

  • Creativity means being able to create new, interesting ideas that are different than other people’s.
