  • It is impossible to have life without having death. My sculpture captures the idea that death brings the rebirth of new life, which takes from remnants of the past. The main sculpture of the bison skull, alluding to remains of a life now past, has been recrafted into the shape of a lyre, able to produce beautiful, yet haunting, music. The insects crawling across the bones survive by feeding on the flesh of the bison, transforming loss into nourishment for new life—much like playing a new song as they move across the bison skull lyre. This process of death and birth also encompasses ideas, purposes, experiences, or inventions that all endlessly fade away with time, only to be reignited and improved upon. This piece illustrates how the traces we leave behind—physical or spiritual—continue to shape and inspire new creations in the world around us.

  • To me, creativity means being able to look at something from a new angle or perspective and being able to express it. Creativity can be practiced, but will always be something that catches the attention of others .
