Fear of Reminders

  • I began writing this piece thinking about how I witnessed my grandpa being carried out of my house in a body bag when I was younger and how I experienced grief. Over time I included aspects of the injustice towards abuse victims and my interpretation of “May death be kinder than man”. Death was a subject that I have no personal feelings towards, finding it difficult to imagine not breathing or eating while still being conscious for the rest of eternity. I wrote down what the afterlife would personally be like. Based on my thoughts, it would be a comforting place where you can look after your friends or family who are still alive.

  • Creativity means expressing your thought process that doesn’t align with others and sharing stories that encourage people around you to spread their imagination.
