Fallen Angel

  • Fallen Angel contrasts purity and suffering, showing how the pure-hearted often face hardship while the corrupt thrive in a world driven by greed. The angel, a symbol of innocence, sits on a Greek-style pedestal, her posture curled in sorrow. Her wings droop, gently curling around her, reflecting her vulnerability and desire to shield herself from the harshness of the world. They try to embrace her purity, offering protection from further heartbreak. The term “fallen” symbolizes not only her literal descent from heaven but also the degradation of her pure heart, overwhelmed by society’s malice and negativity. I created this piece to convey that in a world where self-interest and power are prioritized, pure-hearted individuals inevitably struggle. Their selflessness and innocence put them at odds with the selfishness around them, making them more vulnerable to life’s harsh realities.

  • Creativity means the ability to come up with original ideas that convey valuable messages to others. It involves breaking away from the standard thinking process and shifting to an imaginative process, creating a visual art piece from drawing connections between life and figurative ideas.
