Cage of Paranoia

Johanna J.

  • That strange dichotomy of enjoying people’s presence while being scared of talking to people has seeped into this poem. I never intended to write in my social anxiety, but as I expanded on this poem about fear I had to imbue it with what scares me the most. Paranoia. Not being able to trust anything is terrifying because I want to. I want to be able to relax, talk to someone, and go outside. If I was too scared to even leave my room, I would live a life worse than death.

  • Creativity is being able to make decisions that you worked to figure out and wasn’t spelled out to you. To use creativity you have to think about it and make a decision that you came to on your own, with some inspiration. It’s akin to gut feelings more than logic.
