“Water holds memories” is something I’ve been taught in all of my science classes. Reflecting back to when I was a kid, sticking my head under the calmly silencing water, this piece catches the beauties of the underwater world, just a glimpse of time. While making this piece, I wanted to capture the magical moments that can be spent with nature and the ocean. Using markers and color pencils to create bright colors and reflections with an underwater effect. My subject is a girl in the water, surrounded by bubbles and plunged into colorful waves. This artwork explores the memories water holds and creates for me and many.

To me, creativity means the ability to express myself without words. To be able to take a piece of paper, and draw out my feelings and emotions. Using colors, feelings and symbolism to draw what I feel, even though it may be indecipherable to others.
