Since I discovered the treasure trove of baby pictures in my family’s Amazon Photos account a couple years ago, I’ve been obsessed with watching old videos and looking at old photos, just to get a glimpse of who I used to be at 10, or 5, or 2 years old. Every time I am in slight awe of the fact that the little girl in each image or video is me, since she looks so different, and sounds so different. It blows my mind how a camera can preserve a moment, and in that collection of moments, a person can be preserved. Since my fascination with these photos started, I’ve sketched and painted my younger self numerous times. This is my most recent work, made in my art class at school, and it’s also the biggest canvas I’ve ever painted.

To me, creativity is the evolution of inspiration. Everyone gets inspired, but it is the active pursuit of that inspiration---the unique way you choose to express yourself---which demonstrates creativity.
