No Flying

I was looking to shoot a thing in motion for practice for fast shutter speed photography. I came upon this crow that was still on the ground and with that and the sign next to it, I had a thought of luring the bird up to the sign which would make for a good shot as it would catch it flying and almost at its landing.

Joy Through Rust

I recently went on a camping trip with some friends out in Copperopolis. I brought my school camera and a zoom lens with the hopes of taking some nice pictures of my friends. We ended up exploring during golden hour in an awesome golden field. I saw the car as seen in the photo and instantly felt drawn to it. It was run down, rusty, and clearly used for shooting practice at it was riddled with bullet holes. I knew I wanted to shoot using it as a key component to the composition, although worn down, I figured it would contrast well with my friend wearing similar tones to both the car and the background. The exultation he conveys contrasts with the nature of the car and I think it makes the piece whole.

Mid-flight

This photograph was taken while a seagull is flying around on Albany High School's campus. Flying around from building to building, this photo was captured right as it took off from the rooftop of the Albany High gym. Several were taken, but ultimately this displayed the most facial and physical features of the bird in a enhancing matter.

Shooting Hoops

Capture the moment, the iconic sound of a "swish" as the ball makes it in. While the sound is common, to capture the sound in an image that lives eternally is another matter. The main aim of my piece is to capture the feeling of an afternoon with friends, shooting hoops.

Shining City Lights

My artwork was created on the way home in San Francisco after watching the SF giants play, my first time fully watching baseball ever. This picture is taken right next to the beach, facing the cars, and beautiful lights and buidlings of San Francisco at night. I put the camera on a long stone bench so that it would be able to stabalize and not moving when taking this picture. I pointed it to the streets to have the stunnng bright scenery with the tall buildings and a nice landscape,. My friend then helped me draw out a person in the middle of the picture with a flashlight by tracing my position for around half a minute. The low position of the camera makes the picture able to digest all of the details from the groud up of the big city. The amoung of lights at this position also complement and help positively luminate the groud and picture itself.

Delicate

An observation of texture and the amount of delicacy and tranquility seen in this specific piece. My attempt of being able to truly encompass and display the elegance and beauty hidden in the details of something so ordinary is highlighted in the contrast and black-and-white envisionment.

Talking Jungle

this is a photo of one of my favorite animals. I have volunteered at the Oakland zoo for 3 years now and only vary recently really got to know Alotta. But she has verry quickly found a place in my heart. Shes very excited to see me and will fly across the enclosure when she hears my voice where she will want to hang out and chat with me. WHile ive only really known her for a few months its crazzy to me how quickly ive become very attached to her. Her outgoing and freindly nature make her very personable which is what i was trying to capture in this photo. She is a joy to photograph always staying still when i try to take a photo of her or striking a pose. I have always loved animals but very few animals are quite as photogenic as her. it is an amazing feeling being recognized by such a unique animal and alotta is no different.

Caballero Circus

I have been attending my friend's show at his family-owned circus for years. While they present the same thing at every show, as I grew up, I began viewing their performance from a more artistic point of view. I captured this photograph at the beginning of the show, moments before she climbed the rope. Given that I knew the show by heart, I knew which moments would make an unforgettable photograph for my friend and his family.

Bay Sunset

As the day went on I was struggling to find the perfect place to take my photo. I had been driving around for some time trying to find a location that I liked. When the sun set I went down to the bulb and the sunset was exactly what I wanted. I walked around looking for an angle I liked. Once I found the right spot I took multiple photos. This one stood out to me the most as the colors of the ocean and sky are deep and colorful. I decided to shoot from behind a small shrub because I liked how it split up the scene and gave the photo more depth.

Sightseeing

I was inspired by the skyline of SF and wanted to have a photo that captures the mystique of SF. By having my subject on a swing, it looks like she is flying over SF.

Sunset Amidst the Clouds

I had taken a camera home from school and was hanging out with my family when I noticed that the sunset was a beautiful color, one which I had never seen before. I paused what I was doing and rushed to my apartment window to capture with my camera what I was seeing with my eyes. It is still one of the most memorable photos I have ever taken and one which will stick with me for a very long time.

Bush Spider

I wanted to capture a picture of a living organism. I found this spider sitting in a bush in the Berkeley Rose Garden. A lot of people are scared of spiders so i portrayed the spider as bigger than it actually is.
