  • I’ve always had a strong respect for nature. Living in Marin, I often take hikes to connect with nature and always find it to be a rewarding experience. What if I wrote about the opposite perspective? About a man so invested in his work that he’s found himself completely disconnected with nature? I decided that I’d write the realization in a negative way, a realization that seemingly topples his perception of the world upside-down. I wrote of Nature as a sort-of inevitability, and depicted the man’s confrontation to that reality. It forced me to think of other points of view, specifically concerning the climate crisis right now. I hope that this flash fiction will bring people to be more aware of Nature’s power in our day to day lives in a creative way.

  • In my opinion, creativity is the capacity to take a concept and manipulate it, play around with it, and turn it into something original that no one’s been confronted with before. It should reflect my personality and artistic choices while exploring new ideas.
